It’s almost our favorite time of the year -The Little League World series in Panama City, Florida! We love getting to do baseball AND a vacation. There’s nothing like nights on the beach after a day at the field, or hanging out with all your favorite people by the pool on off days. Here’s a list of thing we DON’T leave without:
Trading Pins
To kick-off the tournament most tournaments do a pin trading ceremony. Every team brings Pins that you design for your players to trade for other team pins. We typically do 20-25 pins per player. These can be as simple or as extravagant as you want to make them.
Pin Towel
The players need somewhere to put their pins so most teams do a team branded small towel or some will do a team branded drawstring bag.
Sunscreen
These days are LONG and they are HOT. We love the Sun Bum sunscreen because it stays on well through the heat and sweat.
Cooling Towels
Cooling towels are coveted by the boys at every game. Don’t forget a bucket or cooler of ice water where the cooling towels will live and where the boys can dunk their hands (it helps cool them down quickly!)
Fans (The Bigger The Better)
We take at least 1, if not 2 LARGE fans that have a misting feature. A lot of the time the turf fields are well over 100 degrees. The fans help keep the air circulating in the dugout. Personal neck fans are also a non negatiable in these tournaments!
Tent/Canopy
If you bring nothing else, bring a tent! There is very little to no shade at midday in these parks, don’t get caught without some shade!
Coolers
I take a small personal cooler for my personal snacks and drinks but we also bring a large cooler filled with ice water for the cooling towels to float in, and for dunking hands in between innings. This is the fastest way to cool them down when they’re over heated. We also throw some Gatorades and liquid IVs in this cooler.
Wagon
Last year we had a mile and half walk to our field and that seems to very common. BRING THE WAGON!
Water Gloves
If your players are anything like ours they can’t get enough baseball! These water gloves are SO fun for them in the pool when they just cant get enough!
Kites
Bring a kite for those windy evenings on the beach, all the players and siblings alike, LOVE them!
Goggles
Don’t forget your goggles, they cost 10x more at the beach!
Umbrella
It’s the beach – it WILL rain at some point. Keep an umbrella in the wagon to use for the pop up showers that inevitbaly always come.
First Aid Kit
No one wants injuries but they always happen. Be prepared with a first aid kit and ice packs.
